Already a number of local associations and organisations, on hearing about the new group's plans, have donated generously towards their cause. Said a spokesman for the new committee, "This new umbrella group will in no way conflict with the good work already carried out by the two parent organisations - but aims to compliment that work". Continued the spokesman, "Our aim is to build bridges between the communities by organising joint day trips, afternoon and evening social meetings, Christmas parties for elder citizens and children". | New cross-community welfare group for Armagh City The Society of St Vincent de Paul and the Royal British Legion have come together to form a new cross-community welfare group in Armagh City. While both organisations carry out sterling work within the local community, and have maintained close links with each other, it was felt that a joint committee should be formed comprising two members from each. The new group includes Kieron Grimley (Chairman), George Robinson (Secretary), Nuala Donnelly (Treasurer) and Dan Faulkner (Public Relations Officer).
