These
energy efficient, cost effective bulbs will be distributed
'free' by our network of volunteers
to disadvantaged individuals, pensioners and low income
families throughout Northern Ireland. Every bulb, if
used in a lamp/light which is on for more than four
hours each day, can save up to £10 every year
off electricity bills.
They
use one quarter of the electricity and last up to 15
times longer!
NIE
are actively encouraging their customers to use less
energy and have several schemes ranging from this giveaway,
to subsidised cavity and loft insulation schemes to
help people in a practical way.
Speaking
at the launch Aileen Coney said - "We
are out day and daily with people who need our help.
These bulbs will be a great help to our clients, and
we are extremely thankful to NIE for providing these
bulbs free of charge...it really will make a difference."
