Later that day the Royal College of General Practitioners also presented the Society and the Salvation Army with cheques totalling £831 each at a ceremony in Belfast.
The cheques were the proceeds of their annual 'Evening of Celebration' when over 300 GP's and their staff got together to support local charities. This year their chosen charities were the SVP and Salvation Army and we are very grateful for their kindness and generosity.

The Society was high on the wish list of two influential public institutions on 16th April 2007, when it was picked as the shared benefactor of their fundraising efforts.
First, the Bar Council of Northern Ireland presented cheques totaling nearly £26,000 to the SVP and the Salvation Army, following fundraising initiatives undertaken by local Barristers.
The Society of St Vincent de Paul was the nominated charity of the Bar Council during 2006 and SVP regional administrator Aileen Coney thanked everyone involved for their outstanding effort and support.
