Clare Lodge holiday home in Newcastle, Co Down, provides a welcome break for mobile elderly people between May and September.

Each year over 500 people arrive during the summer months in small groups for a week's holiday. In most cases the holidays are arranged by local Conferences around Northern Ireland but bookings can be made direct.

The house is immaculately kept to the standard of a first class hotel, competing in care and attention for the senior citizen with the starred Slieve Donard hotel just a few minutes walk along Newcastle's main street.

There is no age restriction placed on conference groups and in the off-season keen week-end rates with full board are available to groups of all kinds. There is easy access to all floors by passenger left - part of an upgrading helped by a lottery grant.
